Bem!!!!!!!!!!!! Estou tão orgulhosa de mim mesma com o que fiz que não esperei mais e aqui estou a partilha-lo!!! Fiz 2 tábuas de padeira à moda antiga! Well!!! I'm so proud of myself and with what i did that i couldn't wait sharing it!!! Just made 2 kitchen boards old fashion style like the ones used in home bakeries. IIt is HUGEEEEE and to give it a special touch i engraved the word "cuisine" on it! I made 2 one for me and another one for a dear friend of mine!

After so many months without rain it was with great pleasure that we welcomed the first rain of the season on Saturday! There's a stormy weather outside and i love it! It feels really good to have the fireplace burning in the evening!
I know it is not christmas time yet, but it's coming and i've been working on some decor. Made this balls with linen and some snowed pinecones. They do look sweet! Check them out on Dawanda!

Vou confessar uma coisa!: não tenho muita paciência para fazer sempre as mesmas coisas! Na realidade, já chegam as tarefas domésticas que, aparte a culinária, são uma verdadeira seca! I have to confess something!: i'm not the kind of person that can do the same thing over and over again! To be honest, housekeeping is tedious enough (apart from cooking), so whenever i'm creating i tend to jump from technic to technic creating new things and using new materials. At the moment, apart from some other things, i'm truly in love with the idea of using animals' images on decor. So, this week made this abat-jour and some pinecones covered in snow. What do you think?!

Aqui vai uma receitinha que faço muito no Outono, mas é um clássico português! Na realidade sirvo-a com algumas alterações!
Ingredientes:
Maçãs
açúcar
vinho do porto
canela
cravinho

Lavam-se as maçãs. Faz-se um buraquinho no centro; rega-se com açúcar e vinho do porto a gosto e aromatizam-se com canela e cravinho moídos. Leva-se a forno quente até abrirem. Servem-se quentes ou frias - eu adoro come-las com natas ou uma bola de gelado de nozes.

Just a dead easy Autumn recipe that is also a portuguese traditional recipe all year round.

Ingredients:
apples (the amount you want)
sugar (to your taste)
Oporto wine (or any other sweet wine, to your taste)
grated cinnamon
grated cloves (optional)

Wash the apples and make a small hole in the center. Place on a tray and sprinkle with the sugar, Oporto wine, cinnamon and cloves. Get it into a hot oven until they "open" and look soft. Serve it hot or cold. I LOVE to eat it with cream or a scoop of walnut ice-cream.

The weather has been really strange! too hot for the season!; more then 30º in October is not normal!!!! I just love the changing of seasons and what comes with them, and putting up pumpkins and Autumn colours with more then 30º didn't sound right, does it?!!

O meu marido está em Viana do Castelo, pelo que ser mãe a tempo inteiro ganhou outro significado e dimensão. Levo o tempo todo de roda dos filhotes e entre escola e actividades não me resta muito tempo para grandes coisas!! Por outro lado, com o pai fora a minha cama torna-se o centro do mundo e acabo com os marotos metidos na minha cama e poucas horas de sono!!!! um rebola daqui!; o outro resmunga dali!!; e eu fico com poucas horas de sono bem mal dormidas! Felizmente quando o meu marido volta para passar o fim-de-semana sempre ponho os sonos em dia qualquer coisa! Por isso... ... tudo vai devagar devagarinho... bem devagarinho lá vão aparecendo aqui e ali decorações de Outono!!!

My husband is working in the North and the word mom suddendly got a whole new meaning and a different dimension!! He only comes on the weekends and i, therefore, end up having the kids and their stuff all for myself!!! it's being really hard! Besides, with their father away they end up sneaking into my bed and i just don't get enough sleep!!! So... as you can imagine i'm slowly becoming a walking zombie!!!!... i can't wait to be weekend again and sleep!!!
With not much time, my Autumn decorating is going slowly!!; i mean... ... really slowly!!!

Yesterday it was my birthday. 41!!! I can not believe?!?! How did i get here so fast?!

Aqui está!!!! O 1º cheirinho a Outono!!! com memórias de infância e da cozinha maravilhosa de uma vizinha, a D.Maria, que tinha vivido uma vida em Angola e passava as estações imersa na preparação de coisas maravilhosamente doces e deslumbrantemente saborosas! HUMMMMM!...

Esta é a receitinha, para quem quiser tentar!

INGREDIENTES
1kg de marmelos sem sementes mas com casca
1kg de açúcar branco (reduzir 10 a 20% relativo ao peso do fruto)
sumo de 1 limão
2 colheres (sopa) de água

PREPARAÇÃO
Lavar os marmelos, cortá-los em 4 e retirar as sementes (reservar). Partir cada quarto de marmelo em 2-3 bocados e colocar na panela de pressão, juntamente com o açúcar, o sumo de limão e a água.
Levar ao lume forte, mexendo com a colher de pau, até que se crie humidade no fundo e o açúcar comece a derreter. Envolve-se bem, tapa-se a panela e deixa-se levantar fervura. Ferver 5min. em lume médio e desligar. Deixar repousar 5min. e retirar a pressão colocando a panela no lava-loiça e abrindo a água fria sobre ela.

Triturar a marmelada a gosto.
Com uma concha colocar a marmelada em taças.

Quinces always bring back memories of my childhood, of the 1st scents of Autumn and of my parents neighbour, D.Maria, who had lived in Angola a whole life and that had the most amazing wonderful magical kitchen in the village. She was always cooking delicacies, jams, gellies and cakes... things a child could only dream off! Yeap! She is one of my inspirations,...
So...
For some of you who did not grow up with this wonderful fruit and do not know exactly how to use it, here is a very simple traditional recipe worth trying and... ... ... eating

1kg quinces
1kg of sugar
juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp of water

Wash, remove stone and cut quinces (leave skin on, unless you want to do a gelly).
Place all ingredients into a pan and and let it cook, stirring, until all the sugar is melted. Cover the pan and leave to cook stirring occasionally, for 15mn, or you see that all the fruits are cooked and starting to break.
Take the mixture to the food processor and break it down until it looks like a cream. Pour it into small bowls and leave to cool and get thick. After that you can eat it with bread, yogurt, cheese or melt it and pour over a cake...

Agosto chegou acanhado e desconfiado com chuva e temperaturas mais frescas!!!! Nem parece Verão, mas antes Outono antecipado que ainda ninguém quer!!! Ora bolas!!!
Já vos tinha mostrado a casa dos meus avós paternos. Desta vez segue a dos meus avós maternos! Bem apenas detalhes!... que tal como a outra está muito estragada e também não tenho acesso ao interior!!. Outros tempos!; outras glórias!!!; que agora não as hà!!!
A casa dos meus avós maternos é do séc.XVIII totalmente feita em granito, paredes de 2m de largura, muito madeira, uma fonte que corre debaixo dela, um jardim interior enorme (antes usado para bicharada pequena), uma cozinha de 70m2 com uma lareira aberta maravilhosa, tectos com frescos e estórias de amores, paixões, cegueiras e loucuras. Como podem imaginar nada disto veio parar às minhas mãos, mas antes às de uns tios meus que não dão valor a nada!!! Creio que esta foi a última vez que lá fui!; dá pena vê-la assim tão acabada... não! não quero lá voltar!

August is here showing a sad tired face as if it was already here for long!!! It came with rain and cold weather! It already looks like Autumn! and we don´t really want it already! too soon!!!
I already showed you my father's parents house; this time it's my mother's parents house. It is a HUGE granit house from the 18th century, with 2m thick walls, all hard wood floors old fashion style, a stream of water and a fountain running under it, a big inside yard ( used for small animals) that would look marvellous transformed into a garden, handpainted ceilings, a 70m2 kitchen with a big open fireplace and stories of loves, passions, blindness and craziness!... As you can imagine none of this is mine!!! It all belongs to my aunts who obviously care about nothing and proudly destroy what was there in the attempt of transforming it into a modern house!!! Stupidity and ignorance have no limits on my family!!!! This is my last time there! I'll never go there again!! It hurts seeing it so sad and destroyed!! No! I'll never go back there again!

Este é o resultado da filosofia do agarrado à terra até morrer!!!! Que é o estilo do povo cá de cima!! This is my father parents' house! It has lots of beautiful details and it's falling apart because olders ignorance! In the north of portugal old people always follow a stupid theory that one never passes on land or houses before one dies. The result is land completly over taken by plants and houses being destroied by the forces of nature. They than complain that new generations don´t care about family things and properties!!! who is to blame?!?! they are! holding things that they don't really care about or need results on the complete loss of things that were passed on from generation to generation.... silly way of thinking!!!!!

Anyway!... the weather is great and blackberries are looking delicious! We will be picking some to make jam!

Pela 1ª vez em muitossss anos estamos em casa dos meus pais por mais de 3 dias. O meu marido está a trabalhar em Viana do Castelo, que fica a cerca de 1 hora de carro de casa dos meus pais e por isso resolvemos vir todos e dar aos miúdos mais uns dias junto dos avós. Estão a adorar!!! Especialmente a minha filhota que leva o dia enrolada em 4 gatos bebés que por aqui andam!!! Claro está que no regresso lá terei de levar alguns!!!!!
Os meus pais têm uma pequena quinta, bem dispersa, ao estilo do norte!! - um campo aqui e outro além! Como podem ver é muito verde!!! e muita chuva, claro está!! Quando chegamos estava a chover! Felizmente agora tem estado bom apesar de fresco!
Já alguma vez viram hera branca?!!

For the 1st time in many years we will be spending more than 3 days chez my parents! My husband is working in Viana do Castelo, a coastal city an hour away from my parents place; so we've decided to come and give the kids some days with grandparents! They are loving it! Specially my baby girl!!! She loves animals and spends all day long playing with 4 baby cats, that my father has. This has a price!!! and on the way home i'll have to take some with us!!!!
My parents have a small farm, northen style - a field here and another one there! As you can see, everything is very green!, meaning it also rains a lot more than in the place we live!!! It's been a bit cold for summer, but it's pleasant nevertheless!

Quando visito blogs adoro ver fotos dos locais onde as pessoas vivem! De alguma forma deixa de ser alguém dentro de um computador e passa a ser alguém real! Curiosamente, nunca fiz isso em relação ao meu espaço! Por isso, hoje aqui vão fotos, resultado das minhas caminhadas, do local onde vivo.
Como podem ver, é bem organizado! Daí haver tantos estrangeiros a viver aqui. Campos de golf, bosques, lagos, e muitas coisas todas completamentes diferentes. Essa é uma das coisas boas de Herdade! Dentro de determinadas regras, cada um pode fazer a casa que gostar! Existem casas de madeira, de traça moderna, tipicamente portuguesas, estilo árabe, alentejanas, mixturas de estilos, ... eu sei lá!!!! Uma parafernália arquitectural!; nunca monótono e que certamente faz as caminhadas bem mais divertidas!
E o lugar onde moram?!?!?! Como é?!

Whenever i visit your blogs i just love to see pics of the place where you live! It somehow makes people less "computable" and more real! Real people in real places! However i never did that in my own blog! Till .... today! Here are some photos of the place i live in! It's called Herdade da Aroeira, a private golf condo 20km from Lisbon, the capital, and 5mn away from the beachs.
It's a quite organized place, heim!?! That's one of the reasons we have people from all over the europe and as far as Russia, living here. There are untouched woods, big ponds with fish, golf courses, a huge swimming pool (i'll try to get a photo!), 2 tennis courts, a very nice and private shopping area and lots of houses!
One of the best things here is that one can build the house (under certain rules) one fancies!; and that's way you find tipical portuguese, wood, modern, californian style, arabic, castle, alentejo looks, houses that mix all up, ... you name it! it's up to one's imagination. It's definitely not tedious and it certainly makes my walks a lot funnier!
And where you live?!?!? how does it look?!

Adoro hortências!; bem!, na minha terra chamam-se granjas, vá-se lá saber porquê!! Adoro-as de todas as cores, maneiras e feitios... infelizmente duram tão pouco depois de cortadas e em jarras. Estas estão já a desmaiar mas mesmo assim ... lindas!...

I love hydrangeas!!; in any colour and shape!!! they always remind me of my childhood in the countryside. One of my mom's uncles was completely blind and had a severe passion for roses and hydrangeas. He had a small classic garden filled with colours and smells... i guess i somehow got his passion too. These are already fading but yet so gorgeous!...

A lavanda é sem dúvida uma planta maravilhosa! A cada dia que passa encontro mais e mais utilidades para ela e sempre deliciosas!

Eu sei! É Verão e estamos todos com ritmos menos acelarados e com aquela preguiçinha de fim de tarde calorenta, mas esta receitinha é tão simples que não hà desculpa!!!:

Sal de Lavanda:

sal - 1/4 chávena

flores de lavanda secas - 2 colheres de chá

Misturar tudo num frasquinho e depois é usar a gosto em carnes e peixes antes de grelhar! Garanto que fica muito bom! Eu gosto tanto que até uso em saladas! Sendo vegetariana tinha que tentar nos meus vegetais ou não lhe sentiria o gosto!

Lavander really is a gorgeous marvellous plant!!! I have been finding so many ways of using it and the results are always great!
I know it is summer and we all feel kind of lazy, but this recipe is so simple and easy to do that there are no excuses!!!
Lavender Salt:
salt - 1/4 cup
dried lavender flowers - 2 tsp
mix all together in a jar and than use on grilled meats and fish. I let it rest for a couple of days before using, so it gets the taste.

Being a vegetarian i had to try it on salads too, and i have to say that i love it! Go ahead try it!

Costumava adorar ir à praia! A bem abono da verdade, quando era criança, teria sido um sonho viver perto da praia como vivo agora, mas nos dias que correm só vou à praia por causa dos meus filhotes e confesso que as 2 horas que lá fico chegam e sobram! Eu sei!; eu sei! devo fazer parte da pequeníssima percentagem de tugas que não gostam de praia! enfim, ... lá fomos nós!!! os meus filhotes adoram, claro está!!! eu volto para casa cansada e moída!!!, mas o tempo está tão bom ... ... e o mar aqui tão perto!

I used to love to go to the beach! In fact, when i was a child, it would have been a dream to live as close to the beach as i do nowadays! For about 10 years now i don't really like it! I know!!! i'm included on the tiny group of portugueses that don't like it! There's something on the beach that gets on my nerves!! just be there ... doing nothing or playing with sand or sun bathing or sticky sand and sea salt on your skin or people or ... ... too much for me! But my kids do love it and the sea is just around the corner!! so... i just get myself together and ... here we go!! than i just feel lasy and tired...
but the weather is gorgeous and the beach is perfect to strenghen ones body for the winter times and colds...

Adoro esta época do ano e as mil coisas que hà para fazer!!! São as compotas dos frutos de Verão, as ervas aromáticas para secar, ... ... Como a minha cozinha não foi pensada para secar seja o que for, improvisei uma linha para secar as minhas ervas aromáticas que estão agora no seu auge. Além de ficar lindo a cozinha fica totalmente perfumada! Que tal?!?! nada mal, hei?!?!

I just love this time of the year and all the things we can do! I have been doing some summer fruits jams. I already did with plums, apricots, strawberries... to be honest, some of them are almost gone by now!! It is now time to dry some herbs too. Mine are on their full beauty and so i just improvised a herbs rack to hang them to dry. Oh!!! if you could only feel the smell on my kitchen right now!! and you?!!? do you usually dry your herbs too?!?!

Today it is also a sad day for me. 2 years have gone by on Michael Jackson's death and it still hurts.

Bom dia!!!!!!!!!!
Para quem gosta de bolachas perfumadas aqui está uma receitita bem fácil e ideal para aproveitar a alfazema que temos no jardim!!!! A minha filhota adora-as!!! Tanto que, quando faço, tenho de fazer no mínimo o dobro da receita!!
Aqui vai ela:

150gr farinha
100gr manteiga fria
50gr açucar
um pouco de açúcar baunilhado
1 pitada de sal
1 c chá de flor de alfazema

Juntar tudo numa tigela e bater até formar uma massa macia. (Podem levar ao frigorífico 30m se quiserem estender com o rolo, mas eu nunca achei necessário porque gosto delas com um ar mais rústico).
Levar ao forno 20m a 175º.

For those of you who love lavender here is a great way to eat it in one of the most delicious ways!!!!! Bet you will not be able to eat only one!!!!..
Lavender Cookies!!!
Here it goes:

150gr all purpose flour
100gr cold butter
50gr of sugar
a bit of vanilla sugar
a pinch of salt
1 tea spoon of lavender flowers (i usually add more, because i like to feel it when eating!)

Mix all together in a bowl until you get a smooth pastry just like the one for normal cookies.
If you want to roll it and use cookies cutter then take it to the friedge for 30m 1st ( i never do it because i just love to cut it with my hands getting a more rustic looks to it!)
Get them into the oven 175º for 20m. (don't forget to let them cool a bit before you take them out of the tray!)
Enjoy!

Ao fim-de-semana adoro passar algum tempo na cozinha entre tachos e panelas e fazer algo diferente: bolachas, bolos, pão, compotas, queijo, manteiga, ... ou simplesmente sabores de outras paragens. Hoje fiz ... ... compota de alperces. Tenho uma árvore no meu jardim que pelo 2º ano dá uns frutos deliciosos. Como é tudo biológico tenho de os apanhar antes de estarem muito maduros ou terão bicho. Ainda não tenho muitos! Apenas consegui 1,5kg de alperces! Comemos alguns e os outros transformaram-se numa aromática e deliciosa compota.
Aqui vai a receita:
1kg de alperces cortados em pedaços;
700gr de açúcar;
50gr água;
Sumo de meio limão

Numa panela colocar os alperces + o açúcar + a água e deixar ferver por 15mn. Juntar o sumo de limão, mexer e guardar em frascos. Depois ... ... degustar!!!!!!!!!!

On weekends i usually take the time to spend some hours on my kitchen doing new things: special cookies, a new cake, homemade cheese, or simply new tastes from different countries. Today i made Apricot Jam for the 1st time! We have an apricot tree in our garden that gave fruit for the 2nd year. Not loads of fruit!; only 1,5kg! Some we ate and the others were transformed into an extremely aromatic and delicious jam.
Here is the recipe:

1kg apricots
1,5 cups sugar

1/5 cup water

1/2 lemon, juiced

Cut the apricots in half, and remove the pits. Cut the apricots into 1-inch chunks.
In a large heavy-bottomed pot, combine the apricots, sugar and water. Stir to combine.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring frequently with a long wooden spoon and skimming foam as necessary, until reduced and thickened, about 15 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice.
Ladle jam into clean jars. Let stand until cool.

Confesso que não sou de todo uma louca por doces e chocolates!!!! Na realidade, sempre que engordo uns kgs é à custa de pão e queijo!! Sou louca por todos os tipos de pão!; mas achei mais giro fazer um saco de compras que lembre doces e lá estou eu com a pastelaria!... Ficou lindinho! OOPS! Só agora reparei que para mim teria de ser "padaria"! De resto, tenho andado muito em baixo este tempo todo! Por isso, andei também mais ausente do blog! As pessoas não gostam de saber de tristezas e angústias! Com o melhorar do tempo, a moral também dá o ar da sua graça!: espero!!! Também tenho andado inquieta com o futuro que nos espera! No domingo temos eleições e estou para ver o que vai acontecer! Espero que o estúpido corrupto do actual 1º ministro seja corrido! Independentemente de quem ganhe, uma coisa é certa, virão aí tempos muito difíceis (se bem que parece que a maior parte dos portugueses acha que não vai ser assim tão mau e anda na "Buinha!", como diz um colega do meu marido). No entretanto, começo a preocupar-me com os meus filhos e em ter de os apoiar (finaceiramente) a ir para uma boa universidade estrangeira e tentar a sorte num país onde as oportunidades para quem trabalha existam. Enfim... preocupações ...

Ok!ok! i confess! i'm not a great fan of sweets and chocolates!!! (still made this beautiful shopping bag). What?!?! Bet you're all thinking i'm an alien!!! Sorry... ... ..., but i'm not!!! I'm just a bread and cheese girl! I love all sorts of breads... and my idea of pos-dinner relax is sitting in the sofa or outside with a good gourmet cheese and a glass of great red wine! can you imagine anything better for the long summer days to come?!?!
Anyway, i've been feeling a bit down. And when that happens, i just do not blog! People don't really want to hear about sadness and anguish! They have enough of their own!...
Too many problems and worries! This weekend is election day, and i'm worried with what will happen and what future holds. I do believe that we need to get this corrupt 1º minister out!! Most portugueses just act as if everything is ok when i see very dark clouds coming this way! And with this international help our children's future is being sold! I'm starting to believe( and in fact have been talking with my son who's 12 and is an A student) that i'll have to send my son to a foreigner university (if he wants) or at least help him move into a country where opportunities for the ones who work hard exist. "Relax!!!" you might say! "he's only 12"!; but you know i'm a virgo... ... and we do love to know on which kind of soil we're standing, right?!?!... ...

O tempo tem sido muito corrido! Com o aproximar do fim do ano lectivo abundam exames disto e daquilo para o meu filho e, claro, para a chauffer de serviço! Yeap! Moi même! Mas hoje consegui passar parte da minha tarde a criar! Adoro quando consigo sentar-me no meu cantinho com a música a tocar e começo a fazer aquilo que adoro! Claro que gostava de ter um espaço fisico onde vender as minhas coisinhas, mas, com esta crise, resta-me a dawanda.

School ends in 3 weeks time, so i have spent most of my time running around taking my son to ballet and all the other things he´s learning! It's hard to be the chauffer on duty! On Saturday my son had his ballet exam. He did really well!
Today i managed to do some things for my dawanda. I just love to create! To sit on my corner with music on and plan beautiful things. I dream on having my own shop where i can sell all the things i do, but, with all this crisis, my dream is just that... a dream! Ok! I still have dawanda! Can't wait for things to be better!

Bem se leram o meu post de ontem já adivinharam o que é isto!!! Exactamente! Aquilo que recebi da minha mãe!

Os meus avós paternos e maternos eram agricultores ainda do tempo em que se era quase autosustentável e se fazia tudo em casa incluindo roupa de vestir, toalhas de casa-de-banho e roupa de cama. Pois! Isto foi parte do que coube á minha mãe e que ninguém queria! Não são lindas as cores?!!? E pensar que alguns ainda foram colhidos e fiados pela minha bisavó!!! Ainda não pensei o que fazer a grande parte disto! Vou ter de pensar em algo!

Ok! If you read my previous post you already know what this is! Exactly! This is what was inside the bag that my mother gave me!

All my grandparents were farmers still from the time in which one would do almost everything at home. And that included clothes, bathroom towels and bedsheets. You know how it was! This was part of what my mother brought and that nobody wanted! Lucky me, heim?!?! Look at the colours!! aren't they just gorgeous?! And to think that some of it was still grown and weaved by my greatgrandmother!!!! I still haven't thought what to do with it! Some i'll keep defenitely for me!; some i'll probably sell! Other i'll use to make things for my dawanda! I don't know! What do you think?!?! My sister doesn't like any of this and i have so many!

Imagens de uma coisinha que fiz usando um tecido muito especial para mim. Hà uns tempos atrás a minha mãe deu-me um saco com coisas que pertenceram á minha avó materna e á minha bisávo. Pensei: "pronto deve ser cangalhada!" Mas não! Não podia estar mais errada!!! Qual o meu espanto quando abro o saco e descubro um par de lençois de linho bem rústico e novelos de linho em várias fazes de fiação!!!! O máximo! Hoje agarrei e fiz para a minha dawanda um avental 100% algodão e para o coração usei um pedaço de linho de um dos lençóis. Que tal?!

A few months ago my mother gave me a big bag of stuff that belonged to my grandmother and greatgrandmother. I thought: "it's probably a bunch of old stuff!" I couldn't be more wrong!! When i opened the bag i found things really hard to find nowadays!!! I mean you can for sure find imitations, some really good ones but this is the original stuff: 2 pure 100% organic homemade linen bedsheets (produced on my family fields and weaved by the ladies of the family) and several amounts of linen in several stages (some ready to weave others not so much). I'll have to show you some photos! Some of them i'm keeping for myself, of course, but i got so many that i'm considering selling some. Maybe you like it too! On this apron i used 100% cotton and then a linen (my special one) heart.
What do you think?! Do you like the cherries?!

Bom dia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!É sábado!!! e...
apesar de ser sábado, cá por casa ningém dorme até tarde!!! Não que não apeteça, mas a minha filhota acorda com as galinhas e levanta logo toda a gente!!! Por isso, enquanto uns ainda dormem e outros tomam o pequeno-almoço, eu já vou num mata-bicho matinal, que é como quem diz, em linguagem moderna e chic, um snack! Este é o meu: 1 chá delicioso que o meu marido me trouxe da Austria, um sumo, um par de bolachinhas e umas cerejinhas (que em tempo delas seria pecado não as comer, certo?!).
A chávena que vêem na foto é-me muito querida! Além de ter o poema de um dos meus poetas ingleses preferidos (ode to the nightingale), comprei-a nas primeiras férias que fizemos antes e depois de casados! Bem, não foram bem férias! O meu marido foi a uma reunião da Nato em Roma e levou-nos (a mim e meu filhote). Estava casada hà 10 anos e o meu filhote tinha 3. Não! não tive lua-de-mel! Não tinhamos dinheiro e nunca fomos de férias para pouparmos para conseguirmos ter esta casa! O meu marido tinha 3 empregos e eu outros tantos! Foram tempos difíceis! de muito trabalho! e hoje quando dizemos que vivemos na Herdade da Aroeira olham para nós com cara de "estes gajos são ricos vivem muito bem eles que paguem a crise! Enquanto os outros íam para as Caraíbas ... ...
Enfim!...
De resto, já vi que o meu post de 5ª apareceu e tenho agora fotos repetidas! Este blogger é uma alegria!

Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ...
although it's saturday nobody sleeps till late chez moi! My baby girl wakes up with the chickens (as we say...) and wakes up everybody straight away!!!
So ... while some are still sleeping and others are having breakfast by now, i'm already having a morning snack!!!: a glorious tea, that my husband brought me from Austria, some juice, a couple of cookies and some cherries (it would be sinful not to eat them, right?!?!).
The tea cup you see on the foto is very dear to me!; not only because it has a poem (ode to the nightingale) from one of my favourite english poets, but also because i bought it on the very 1st holidays we had since ever! Well, it was not really holidays!; my husband went to a Nato meeting in Rome and took me and my son. No! we had no honeymoon!!! We could not afford it! And we never went on holidays! Rome was the 1st kind of holiday! We were married for 10 years and my son was 3 years old! My husband had 3 jobs and so did i and we never took holidays (not even in our own country) so we could save to have the house we have. And... do you know something?!?!? Nowadays when asked for our address and we say we live in Herdade da Aroeira, a very private condo, people look at us with that face saying " these guys are rich they have a great life they must pay for this crises"! While others went to paradise islands and the Carabbean ... ... and when i see those faces i think to myself (i should say it loud!) f..... you just get your ass out of the sofa work and save!!
Never mind! I'm just feeling that there's no justice in this world! ... ...
I've seen that my thursday's post showed up and i now have the same fotos 2! This blogger is a carnival!!!!!!

Viver é mesmo bom, mesmo que tenhamos de enfrentrar contrariedades e reveses! Está um tempo maravilhoso! Parece Verão embora não o seja, e eu adoro estar em casa com a minha filhota! Sou mesmo afortunada!; posso vê-la crescer 24h por dia 365 dias por ano como aliás aconteceu com o meu filhote! E embora por vezes esteja que não posso com uma gata pelo rabo, não trocaria o tempo que passo com os meus bebés por nada neste mundo!
A piscina já tem um aspecto maravilhoso, não?! Claro que já foi inaugurada esta semana pelos meus filhotes!
Um bom resto de dia e ... aproveitem!

It's great to live! I usually say that i'll miss so much loads of things when i'm dead! Life is so damm good, even when you have problems, or things don't really turn out the way you have imagined! The weather is great! It looks like summer although it's only spring! I'm really fortunate for being able to be with my children 24h a day 365 days a year and watch them grow free and with love. That's one thing i do not regret about my life! I wouldn't trade it for anything on this whole world! Even when i'm soooo tired that i can hardly carry myself!
The swimming pool is looking great and, of course was already used this year by my children that have been spending the afternoons playing together there! It does look pretty, doesn't it?!

Bem isto de ter a casa à venda é mesmo stressante! Pessoas para ver?!?! Logo coisas para arrumar, limpar, dar outro look, mais um toque aqui e outro ali e acabo por levar o dia de roda da casa! Muitas vezes para não funcionar! Afinal querem uma casa de traça moderna! Não me lixem! Com fotos do exterior da casa é impossível não se ver que é traça tradicional!!! Enfim! Uns não é bem o que queriam! outros acham os quartos pequenos! outros querem um jardim clean, outros adoram tudo mas não têm dinheiro!... valha-me nossa senhora dos chatos! Não sei não, mas esta coisa está a custar! Só não desisto porque a cada visita a minha casa é cada vez mais aquilo que eu não gosto! O decor está cada vez mais minimalista e o jardim cada vez mais cortado! Já hà coisas demais aqui que não são de todo aquilo que adoro! Começo a ficar mesmo cansada disto tudo! Desculpem o desabafo ... ...

Having the house for sale is turning out to be a true nightmare and a stressful situation! You can for sure imagine it! Every time there's people to see the house there are things to be cleaned, redecorated, a touch here and another one there and end up spending my whole day on the house! No time to create or to blog or to do anything else! So much effort on having everything as perfect as possible and then ... ... some think bedrooms are small, others want a modern house (having photos from the house's exteriors on adds!!!), others a clean garden when on photos you can see it's a romantic english kind of garden, others love everything about the house and garden but have no money to buy it (why does anyone that can only buy a 200.000€ house come to see a 575. 000€ ?!?!) I'm really getting tired of all this! The problem is: the decor is becoming more and more minimalist and plants more and more cut. So, as you can imagine, the house and garden are by now so far away from what i love! Should i give up selling or not?! That's a question that starts to cross my mind more often then it would be desireble; i'm starting to think that maybe i should give up and let the garden grow back again and have my romantic corners and vintage decor!
maybe ... ... i'm just stressed and tired!...

Pronto aqui está aquilo que queria fazer há anos e nunca tive coragem! Para celebrar os meus 18 anos de casada fiz esta tatuagem! Para a maioria de vós pode ser uma coisa bem banal, mas para mim é totalmente diferente! Que tal?!?! Bem barroca! bem ao meu estilo! Adoro! São as iniciais dos nomes do meu marido e filhos e a frase "love is enough".

OK! Here it is! That's the big surprise i was talking about yesterday! To celebrate my 18 years of marriage i had this tattoo made. It probably is the most banal thing to do for most of you, but for me it's something really meaningfull. What do you think?!?! It's really rococo style. I wanted something that was not tooooo obvious and it turned out great! It's the 1st letters from my husband's and son's names and the sentence "love is enough".

Sabe a infância, brincadeiras traquinices experiências novas a escola a descoberta ao saborzinho do Verão que está para vir a histórias da Anita lidas debaixo do ameixoeiro dos meus pais a arranhadelas dos gatos que chateavamos ... ...!Oh!!! Que saudade!!!

Hurrai!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first fruits of the season are finally ready to be eaten!!!! Don't they look gorgeous and delicious?!?! If you could just imagine the taste!!! Completely bio! You can imagine, can't you?!?! The taste of childhood, of school, of childish books, of old friends long forgotten, of the first summer smell, of our cats that were never left alone, of my younger parents working in the fields, of the taste of the fruits we ate under the trees or on them as we did with the cherries, of laughter and innocent happiness ... ... ! Oh!! i got the blues!!!!!!!!! :)
Then some more things i did for my Dawanda
some napkin rings with sea stars, great for summer tables or beach style
a frame with a gorgeous white coral
a kitchen towel reminding us of old times
a romantic brooche
and ... ... ... a project yet to come where i'll use these 2 corals.
The weather is perfect!
I'll be in the garden finishing what i started last week before the rain came.

No outro dia encontrei uma lojinha nos cafundós da Amora que vende triliões de coisas para bijuteria! Tem tanta coisa que até é difícil escolher! No entanto, encantei-me por estes camafeus de madrepérola. São lindos, não são?! Comprei uns tantos sem saber bem o que lhes fazer! Nunca fiz bijuteria nem nunca foi coisa que me encantasse particularmente, mas ontem deitei-lhes a mão e isto foi o que surgiu!!! Que tal?! Bonitos ou foleiros para vocês?! Resposta sem máscaras por favor!!! HI! HI! Se quiserem dar uma espreitadela estão na Dawanda, claro!

The other day i found a tiny tiny shop, not so near from the place i live, that had tons of things to make jewellery (not the real one with diamonds and stuff, but pretty anyway!!!). They had so many things that was even hard to choose!! Anyway... i ended up falling in love for these pretty figures made of nacre. Aren't they pretty?! I bought several not knowing how i would use them. I never made jewellery! In fact, it was never a desire! It gets on my nerves al those tiny things that you have to be able to get somewhere and that keep on falling down!!! Do you know what i mean?!?! So ... here i was with these beauties and no ideas!!!! After playing around with material for some time and some inspiring music on this is what i was able to make:
3 rings and a bracelet. All on Dawanda!

Ontem uma grande amiga nossa fez 40 anos. Como estava deprimida ao ponto de não comemorar fiz-lhe um jantarinho surpresa com direito a bolo e tudo!!! Ela adorou! Foi uma bela noite!; regada com um vinho revolucionário de 1974!!!! Uma delícia!
De resto flores de cerejeira para as mamãs por aí espalhadas!!!!!!!!!!!! FELIZ DIA DA MAMÃ!!!!!

Yesterday a sweet friend of ours turned 40. As she was so depressed she just stayed at home and didn't want to celebrate her birthday!! That's what she thouhgt! I made her a special surprise dinner!!! After all you only turn 40 once, right?! She loved everything: the flowers on her favourite colour; her favourite music playing, her favourite snacks and a very special cake! It was such a great night! We ate laughed and drank a 1974 great red wine! A special night indeed!!

Mais uma semana chega ao fim! Hoje fui ás compras e acabei por me encantar por esta luminária que lembra muito o estilo marroquino. Nas fotos 2 tipos de argolas de guardanapos que fiz no ínicio da semana para a minha lojinha Dawanda, já a lembrar o verão que aí vem!!

Another week comes to an end! Today i managed to go shopping and ended up falling in love with this candle holder that has a marrocan style!
On the photos, some napkin rings that i did early this week for my Dawanda shop. I used shells and sea stars. They will be perfect to decorate a summer table or just have around the house bearing an old music sheet!!

Na última semana andei a correr o tempo todo! Na realidade ainda ando! Dizem que vai chover novamente e o meu jardim está a precisar de uma volta pelo que ontem e hoje tenho estado o tempo todo no jardim!
Na semana passada:
Fizemos 18 anos de casados e por isso fomos até à Zambujeira. Claro está que os meus filhotes não resistiram a ir à água!;
Tive cá os meus pais a passar a Páscoa, que celebramos juntamente com uns vizinhos de quem somos muito amigos!;
Houve, obviamente! sob pena de haver revlota infantil cá por casa!, a caça aos ovos!
E... não consegui fazer nada para a minha lojinha!!!
Nem ... visitar os vossos blogs!!!
Olhem só o decor do bolo de páscoa que os meus filhotes fizeram!!!!!! Sim! são coelhinhos! HI! HI!

I spent last week running! Not exercising!!, that i should!!!, but just with so many things to do and no spare time at all!
So ... last week:
we celebrated our 18th wedding aniversary. so we went south to Zambujeira and spent some time playing with the kids at the beach! I took some great photos (i'll show you later!);
I had my parents chez moi for easter that we celebrated together with some friends;
we had the easter egg hunt, otherwise i would have a revolution installed!!!!!
I wasn't able to do much more!!!
This week, weather man says it's going to rain starting today and my garden needs to be cleaned so i'm spending these couple of days in the garden just working and getting tired!!!
I'll try to get to your blogs late this night!

O resultado da brincadeira com flores foram estas 2 malinhas amorosas! Uma para usar no dia-a-dia e outra para levar para a praia!!! Também fiz esta almofada cheia de frou-frous! Tão romântica! (tudo na dawanda!)E a minha princesa que me dá cabo de tudo o que é flor neste jardim!!!; mas fica tão linda que nem ralhar-lhe posso!
Pelo fim da tarde de ontem tivemos 3 visitas inesperadas!!!!; que também cá estão hoje de manhã!!! O máximo!

I've played with flowers and this was the result!!: 2 beautiful handbags! One to use on a casual daily basis and another one to take to the beach! In fact, you can use whenever with whatever you like! I made one for me too and just use it when i want! Then made a romantic pillow with frou-frous! just perfect for a bedroom! Aren't they pretty?!!? (all on dawanda!)
And... my sweet little princess that picks up all flowers that come up in my garden!!!!; but she looks so pretty that i just don´t care about the flowers!!! :)
Yesterday, at the end of the day, we got this 3 beauties visiting us! In fact, they already showed up this morning and are on the pond swimming around!

Está um dia LINDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Como, aliás tem estado toda a semana! O fim-de-semana está aí!; os miúdos estão de férias e no meu jardim reina uma paz maravilhosa!
Adoro as etiquetas (na dawanda) que fiz esta semana e que ficam lindamente como marcadores de livros, não acham?!

What a glorious day we have today! the sky is totally blue and the sun is shining! Weekend is around the corner!; my son is on school break and my garden is just wonderful! so peaceful with the birds singing and the bees zzzzzzzzzing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week i had time to do a lot of things for my shop. I just adore these tiny tags with a butterfly and a french sentence! Aren't they perfect to use on a book?!... or any where else?! (they are on dawanda in case you feel like checking them!)
A few days ago we had a gorgeous visit!!!: a dragonfly!!!!!!!!!! I just ADORE dragonflies and this one was so sweet that even stayed still on my baby's hand!!!!! Isn't that a gorgeous animal?!?!

A sea shell garland to give us a touch of summer and the hot days to come! Great to decor a door or just stand on top of an old book. The shells i've used are, in my land, called kisses and i used to pick them on the beach as a child!

Depois do desaire de ontem, lá tentei solucionar o problema, mas das 2 3 ou apago algumas fotos antigas ou mudo o blog de servidor ou pago aos tipos e continuo a colocar mensagens ou desisto do blog e vou-me à vida! No entretanto, e como ainda não decidi o que fazer, fui atrás e apaguei algumas fotos para poder continuar por estes dias! bem! Nem sei lá muito bem o que fazer!
Por isso para animar a malta, fotos mais pequenas!, de um manequin de alfaiate que comprei hà uns meses na feira da ladra e que transformei esta semana! Que tal?!!? Ficou lindinho, não?!

After what happened yesterday i just tried to solve the problem and figure out that there are some things i can do:
1. just go back and delete some photos from old posts;
2. change my blog to another place;
3. just pay and get some more space (don't know for how long!);
4. give up blogging
Meanwhile, and as i haven't decided what i will be doing, i went back and deleted some old photos so i could post for some more days until i clear my mind about this!

So, to chear up things, here are some photos (smaller!!!) of an old manequin that i had bought a few months ago and that i finally revamped! How about it?!?! Do you like it?!!

Estou completamente rendida, surpreendida, feliz, ... Esta semana aconteceu-me uma coissa deveras única! Sabem quando alguém que não conhecem de lado nenhum sorri para nós e nos deixa feliz?!?! Pois! Foi mais ou menos isso!!!; só que muito melhor! Aqui hà uns tempos descobri o blog da Anja, que diga-se de passagem é lindo!, adiante!; ... num dos posts ela mostrava uma revista que me pareceu linda, e deixei um comentário a afirmar isso mesmo! Pois! ela enviou-ma, assim do nada! juntamente com mais umas coisas amorosas! tudo tão lindo e tão cheio de carinho que me deixou verdadeiramente comovida! Como podia uma pessoa cujo blog eu visitára tão poucas vezes e que não me conhece de lado nenhum ter a gentileza de me surpreender oferecendo-me algo?!?! Lindo não?! e... veio no momento certo! esta semana perdemos 2 pessoas muito queridas! uma senhora amorosa de 91 anos (vizinha) e um amigo que vivia desde hà 1 ano na Alemanha, da idade do meu marido e um amigo chegado e muito querido! Como vêem ter uma alegria numa semana de tanta tristeza foi simplesmente perfeito! Como sempre achei que amor com amor se paga irei partilhar o acto com mais algumas bloggers!!!!!!!!!!!! Não é um gesto lindo?!?

She has just a gorgeous romantic blog worth visiting! One of these days i found her travelling the net, as i sometimes do! She had post about a pretty magazinne called Home Brocante Special! I left her a comment, as i always do when i visit you! ( i just think that it is so kind that you're sharing that the least i can do is leave you a comment!! it might be only 2 words it might take some days to get to you, but ...) Anyway!!... back to the point!... I left her a comment saying that it looked like a gorgeous magazine and imagine what happened!!!!! ... She sent me one!!!!!!! out of no where, for any reason special!!!!!!!!!!! without knowing me!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it!!! It had never happened to me!!!! Someone that i do not know surprised me with a gorgeous present filled with details and beautiful things! it was all so pretty, romantic and caring that it really deeply touched my heart! Thanks so much Anja! You have no idea what it meant to get so much love specially this week that we lost 2 beautiful human beings! 1st a sweet lady of 91 who was our neighbour and 2nd a dear dear friend of ours, now living in Germany and the same age as my husband!!!!! to get this joy in such a sad week was just perfect!!!!!!
As it is my pure belief that LOVE SHOULD ALWAYS BE PAID WITH LOVE i will be sharing this gesture of kindness with some bloggers! Vou dizer-vos um segredo! Tenho um fetiche por passorocos de cimento ou coisa que tal! Sempre que vejo um que possa comprar deito-lhe a mão! Adorava arranjar uns em ferro, mas são tão difíceis de encontrar! São lindinhos não são?!?!

Let me tell you a secret! I have a fetiche for birds!! Not the real ones but ciment ones! Just like the ones on the pics! Whenever i have the chance to buy one i do not think 2! Ok! if they are too expensive i just pretend i do not see them and move on! I would love to have some made of iron, but they are inexistent around here! Does anyone know where i can find them on the net?!?!
