junkin' Monday

As promissed, here is the result of my Saturday's fleamarket:

* a black 19th century lady's bag and hat (with it also came a fabulous dress, but i took no picture because i need to clean it first. It's a winter dress and i intend to use it - i'll post some photos later!).

* this cheese plate (sorry do not known the english exact word for it). I liked the design on it and the fact that it has a romantic metal handle.

* Some antique gloden kind of ribbon. I want to use it on some pillows or for the bags i'll be sweing to fill with the lavender i got from the garden. To be honest i haven't decided yet. What do you think? How would you use it?

* This pretty shabby lace and flower. I liked it, because it's all made of fabric instead of the ones we find nowadays and that are made of plastic or something... Maybe i'll use it for a christmas present! To make a wrapping paper prettier.

* This old rusty keys.

I'll probably use them on a decor detail.

* I know! ... ... Another lamp shade! I ... just couldn't resist! And i'm sure i'll find a way to show it off!
It doesn't look that old, but i thought it was really romantic and charming.

* A kids book from the 80s. It has such nice drawings and i'm sure my baby will love it.

It's called "The big race".

* A ceramic hand-painted door handle. Sooo shabby chic, no?!!

* Last but not l ast... A gorgeous romantic feminine dress for my baby girl. I'll still have to wait about 8 years untill she can put it on but... isn't it lovely? Would you resist not buying it?

So this is my contribution for the "junkin' monday" hosted by Clara & Marcela at

After the weekend i spent monday trying to put the house together. On Sunday, my husband decided to clean up the leaves from the roof, in order to get things ready for rainy cold times that lay ahead. After that it was cleaning and washing time! Today it was also laundry day. With a baby running around it's almost impossible to escape from that in an almost daily basis. I already have some of it waiting for tomorrow. As you see ... a very interesting day!!

Leave you with a poem:

Passing Time

Your skin like dawn
mine like musk.

One paints the beginning
of a certain end.

The other, the end of a
sure beginning.

Maya Angelou

Happy new week!
I love your comments.

Lovely finds at the market! I have never seen such an ornate cheese dome before. I love it. I love little pretties like that to use in my home.
The evening bags are so pretty. Those will look awesome hanging somewhere in your home.

Hi Rosa,

You found some great things at the fleamarket. I lik your black hat and evening bag. You will have to show us your dress sometime. Does it fit well? I often buy vintage clothing myself. At the fleamarket in the centre of Rotterdam they have several stalls which are specialised in vintage clothing. I always enjoy taking a look.

Have a good evening! Love, Madelief
